Introduced in 1969, and an immediate success, the Seal 22 was designed by Angus Primrose for John Baker Ltd., and remained in production until 1980. They are relatively fast boats for their size, whilst remaining easy to handle. The lift keel is an iron casting, with a widened base to keep the centre of gravity low, which partially retracts to reduce draught. Vital Spark has a Yanmar 10hp inboard diesel fitted. The North Wind 405 is a high-volume, centre cockpit yacht designed by Angus Primrose and built in Spain.
