Westerly’s are renowned for being solid boats with a an easy to control sailing performance. This example has a been well kept but is now in need of some cosmetic TLC. The boat overall is in great condition with a lot of handy extras recently fitted.
Most importantly is that she does benefit from a new engine that was fitted in 2017 and still has low hours. This has had its yearly servicing and last year had bearings replaced.
With a good clean and polish this could make an excellent versatile boat.

Based on the Westerly Longbow, the Berwick's innovative design has the benefit of good sailing characteristics, whilst also designed to be capable of motorcruising for long periods of time.
The hull form is similar to the popular Centaur, with bilge keels and a skeg hung rudder the boat can sail shoaling waters, even drying out comfortably. It is not often a Westerly Sealord comes up for sale. They have a reputation for being a strong capable cruising yacht with a lot of accommodation, and are well suited as a live aboard.
The owner bought her in 2021 in Portugal and sailed her back to the UK. In 2021 he had new stainless guard rails, new standing rigging, new lazy jacks, new wind generator fitted and purchased a water maker. A spray hood and dodgers were fitted in 2022. She is registered on SSR.

The Westerly Berwick was a natural progression to her smaller sister, the ever popular Westerly Centaur.

Designed by Laurent Giles, and introduced in 1972, the Westerly Longbow is a solid coastal or offshore cruiser, built like all Westerly's of the period, to Lloyds specification and fitted out as a spacious family boat.
